Actress Farrah Fawcett passed away yesterday at age 62. At her side at St. John’s Health Center in L.A. was longtime love Ryan O’Neal and BFF Alana Stewart. Her 24 year old son, Redmond, was not present.
Fawcett had been fighting malignant anal cancer for several years. She even made a documentary about her life with cancer viewed by millions. According to Alana Stewart, her best friend passed on peacefully.
First and foremost, prayers and healing vibes to Exodus, the daughter of Mike Tyson. The 4-year old suffered critical injury when her neck was caught in exercise equipment. She is on life support
Very sad.
OctoMel — Gibson and his Russian babe are expecting. Yawn. This is Gibson’s eigth child. I feel kind of sorry for his wife and other children. I wonder how they are doing? I hope his ex can find love and happiness herself.

Jon and Kate might split up. These Gosselins have intrigued me. I don’t have the patience to watch their show, as I am a busy person and don’t care for reality shows. I have my own marital tensions and bratty child incidents to keep me entertained. However, there is something about these two…he likes to get out and party and she is just…I don’t know…offputting. Aggressive? I’m eager to see their story play out, I hope whatever is best for the kids happens.

Kenda Wilkinson of Girls Next Door fame (it’s not fair to be so pretty!) is getting her own show entitled Kendra, which premieres on E! June 7. She is engaged to baller Hank Baskett and has said they want to be young parents.
Kendra is also coming out with a stripper pole workout that she says can get you in shape while teaching you how to be “…sexy for your man.”
Maybe it’s just that I’m a decade older than Kendra, or have been married for 11 years and had two children, but if I tried pole dancing for my husband he would probably give me golf claps and say “good job” as not to hurt my feelings or say, “move, you’re blocking the television.” One or the other.
It does sound fun, though. It is a workout I would do with a girlfriend or in private. Not for my man.

People has the exclusive on Farrah Fawcett’s condition. I just read the interview with Ryan O’Neal and it is heartbreaking. My beloved grandmother died a week ago today, from a long illness, at home on her deathbed. Only she was about 20 years older than Farrah.
I was unaware that Farrah’s cancer had progressed to this stage, I heard it spread but I had not heard how poorly she was actually doing.
Although I am not a big O’Neal fan (Ryan or Redmond) and prefer just not to mention their criminal deeds in this post, Ryan sounds a lot like my grandfather who also wished to go with his true love to the beyond and feels lost and out of place without his partner of so many years, despite the bad times.
Prayers for Farrah that when she does leave this cruel world she is able to do so painlessly and peacefully. Prayers for those she leaves behind who will grieve. If you don’t pray, send good vibes or something.
I know it sounds like I’m throwing dirt on her before she’s dead but it does not sound like recovery is possible at this point (although spontaneous miracle remissions have happened to a select few.)
Upon arriving at my favorite blog of all time, Dlisted, I discovered that Bea Arthur died at the age of 86 from cancer. Reports state she died peacefully and surrounded by family. Michael K from Dlisted has written a eulogy for Bea that I couldn’t have written better myself.
I am not familiar with any of her early work. I know her as Dorothy Zbornak on the Golden Girls. Estelle Getty, who played her mother S ophia Petrillo, passed away several months ago. I am a huge Golden Girls fan, for me the show will never get old because it was that good.
