I Have Been Bad

Aug 26, 2009 Author: Free Spirit | Filed under: Jon and Kate Gosselin, Ladies Home Journal, OK!

I know I’m not supposed to look at tabloids anymore, but today I gave into the impulse. I went to the Y to work out and realized I forgot my book to read during the treadmill and the exercise bike. Doing those things without reading is extremely boring to me. Well, the magazines at the Y suck. They have Time, Sports Illustrated, car magazines, and Ladies Home Journal. I can stand a little bit of LHJ but I wasn’t in the mood for it today. I wanted some good reading material. So I went to Food Lion next door and bought an issue of OK! magazine.

I savored every minute of it. It made my workout so fun! There is something about reading tabloids that actually makes me feel happy. But, it is an expensive habit. The magazine was $3.99 without tax. That’s $4.00 and it only takes me about an hour to read the whole thing. Four dollars for an hour of pleasure. Pretty expensive. I understand why God does not want me to read these rags.

Anyway, I really enjoyed the juicy article about the whole Gosselin drama, and I got a good chuckle at Kate’s dorky high school photo. Goodness gracious, what a geek! We are about the same age so it is not about being dated. My high school pictures look good! In fact, I looked better then than I do now! I can’t say the same about Kate. The funniest part is that she had a bad haircut back then too. The poor girl has no fashion sense whatsoever. But I guess that’s the least of her problems right now. It would suck to be her – 8 kids, a cheating husband. No thank you.

Blog Update

Jul 14, 2009 Author: Free Spirit | Filed under: Michael Jackson

I regretfully inform my readers that I’ll no longer be posting to this blog. The reason is that I think that God does not want me to read tabloids anymore because they are full of filth. Giving up tabloids was hard for me to do because I really enjoyed reading and critiquing them. But, this is what God wants so it is what I am doing. I have been tabloid-free for about a month now. I’ve decided to keep the site up, mainly because taking it down would mean re-doing my hosting plan and re-making all the sites that are on the hosting plan.

Gigi has offered to continue to post when she is no longer on strike from the Michael Jackson media obsession. I too, am fed up with all the hoopla surrounding him, as I never was too fond of the man.

I am not buying tabloids this week…

Jul 8, 2009 Author: Gigi | Filed under: Uncategorized

I have decided, after perusing the covers online, that I am not buying tabloids this week and last week I only bought Star, with the Beach Bodies feature, a mediocre issue at best.

When all the hoopla over Michael Jackson fades away, I will start buying tabloids again. I am just not interested (in anything except official cause of death.)

While I enjoyed Jackson’s music in the 1980’s, I stopped being a fan after his bizarre transformation and controversy I am not even going to mention as a protective mother of two young sons. But I do have respect for human life so prayers go out to his children, his family, friends and fans.

I may post if other news comes up that interests me. I feel b*tchy today.

Pitchman Billy Mays Found Dead

Star of “Pitchmen” and legendary television informercial pitchman Billy Mays is dead at age 50. Mays died in bed and was discovered early in the morning by his wife. An autopsy should be done by next week. According to reports from TMZ no foul play is suspected.

It sounds like he just…died. In bed, at 50. I wonder if he had heart problems or some other medical condition, or if he was on prescription medications. Prayers to the Mays family.

So much sad news. I am ready for happy, fluffy news.

Deepak Chopra Quoted On Death of Michael Jackson

How did Deepak Chopra get into this? I am a big Chopra fan when it comes to his books. Very wise man. And he is an actual physician who was one of Michael Jackson’s doctors. I wish Deepak Chopra was my doctor.

Anyway, Chopra revealed to CNN that he heard it was a Demerol injection that caused the singer to go into cardiac arrest. He heard? From who? The mystery builds…

According to reports, it is going to be a month to six weeks before full toxicology reports are revealed.

Let me save you the suspense with my own speculation: Michael Jackson died of an accidental prescription drug overdose.

Speculation, people. But in four to six weeks we’ll see if I’m right…

Sources: CNN, Dlisted

Life and Style is reporting that prior to his death, Michael Jackson was taking a “cocktail” of seven medications which included Demerol, Zoloft and Xanax to name just three. I wonder what the other four were?

I am wondering what will show up on the autopsy and toxicology reports.

I have a hunch this will be another “accidental overdose” of prescription medications case.  This takes me back to Anna Nicole and Heath Ledger (who I absolutely adored as an actor and hot guy) who both died from mixing too many prescription pills.

We’ll see…I’m sure lots of updates to come

When will people learn?  Too many prescription drugs can KILL YOU.  How is it that these celebrities didn’t know that? Did they not stop and think, wait…this much medication may not be safe, I’d better educate myself before I overdose and die…

Sorry for the rant, I have a chip on my shoulder about prescription drugs as a close family member of mine is addicted to them and has been for over 31 years.

Michael Jackson Dead at 50

More sad news…the appointed “King of Pop” Michael Jackson has died at the young age of 50 from cardiac arrest. He leaves behind three children who are currently being cared for by Jackson’s mother.

According to People, Jackson suffered the cardiac arrest at his home and was taken by ambulance to Ronald Reagan UCLA medical center. Attempts to revive Jackson went on for over an hour to no avail.

Michael Jackson had been preparing for a career comeback and even physically training with body builder and Incredible Hulk actor Lou Ferrigno.

An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of Michael Jackson’s death.

They will be missed by fans, family and friends around the world.

Sad. While Ed McMahon died last week at a ripe old age, both Farrah and Michael were still young in my opinion.

I say, wait and see. I’m not so convinced.
